Popular resort a Ukrainian city Nikolaev attracts its guests with the nearby ocean beaches and numerous attractions. Its history goes back over 200 years, but the first settlements appeared here much earlier. Found archaeological remains tell us about the time of the Scythians, the first Slavic nagaysky hordes. In the vicinity of Nikolayev also found remnants of ancient Greek city-states of Olbia. The most intensive colonization of this territory began in the late XVIII century after the conquest of the Russian empire of northern Black Sea coast. The city has arisen around the shipyard, which released the first ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
It is from this period that people relate major historical monuments of Nikolaev Ukraine. Attention travelers deserve the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, built by architect Peter Neyolova in 1793. Nowadays the building houses the Museum of Shipbuilding and Fleet. In the 20s of the XIX century here were officers' meetings and the Observatory's Black Sea Fleet.
From the earliest days of the establishment of Nikolayev and until 1915 there were building temples. Initially dominated by wooden buildings, and then there were stone. The most famous is the St. Nicholas Cathedral in 1817.
For more recent architectural monuments include the Yacht Club (1904) and hyperboloid water tower (1907), which is one of the world's first hyperboloid structure. Throughout the world there are only 11.

There are also a lot of monuments dedicated to Makarov, Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, ML Faleyev, Lenin, Shevchenko, V. Chornovil . Citizens and visitors can relax in a local park or visit the Nikolaev Zoo, where there is a large collection of birds and primates. The zoo presents the whole fauna of Nikolayev.
